One of the most researched uses of bee venom therapy (BVT) is in treating arthritis. Bee venom contains compounds like melittin, which have strong anti-inflammatory properties. For people with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, BVT can help reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints. In many cases, bee venom is applied through acupuncture or bee sting therapy, where the venom is introduced directly into the skin. Although it may sound painful, this therapy has been reported to provide significant relief for chronic arthritis symptoms.
